About Kyma 7
Mix or Sequence

Let's start with these three flute sounds: legato, solo, staccato.

sound 1

sound 2

sound 3

Here are some ideas:

manyflutessignal

Six of sound 1 are played together at wide-ranging frequencies and speeds.

Six of sound 1 are tuned closely with their loudnesses controlled by an expression.

ManyFlutes2

Sound 2 goes through a delay with feedback set at 50% percent.

Sound 3 goes through a reverb.

Now, less a simple demonstration, what follows are two examples of transforming sound 2 into a lyrical composition.

First, it's a low lying flute. Note that the frequency lowers the pitch and goes more slowly.

LowLyingFlutePath

Sound 2 is the basis of a new flute sound.

Second, the flute agitates resonant frequencies in the water, creating a sound in which neither flute nor water is heard. The band pass filter is set to high pass mode.

FloatingSound

BandPassFilter

Sound 2 is the basis of a floating flute sound.
