The Earle Brown Music Foundation honors their 90th birthdays with a grant program for soloists and ensembles to present concerts featuring works by Brown and Feldman — or Brown alone — during 2016 and 2017.
Call for summer residency
The Ostrava Days Institute is a working environment with a focus, among others, on compositions for orchestra. There are three resident orchestras: the 85-piece Janek Philharmonic Orchestra, the 80-piece Ostrava New Orchestra (ONO) and te 35-piece Ostravsk· banda. Additionally, there are resident ensembles (e.g. Moenta String Quartet), Canticum Ostrava choir, and many soloists. The Ostrava Days Institute is linked with the Ostrava Days Festival, which includes compositions by residents and lectors and works by Petr Bakla, John Cage, Morton Feldman, Hans Werner Henze, Rudolf Komorous, Klaus Lang, Alex Mincek, Alfred Schnittke, Bent Sorensen, Galina Ustvolskaya, Iannis Xenakis, among others. 2017 International Gugak Workshop. Lectures on Korean traditional music, instruments lessons, concerts, composition workshop, etc. 2017 workshop curriculum will be based on 2016 workshop curriculum and the participants' field of interest.
