Songs for Days to Come, Volume 2
November 30 @ 7:30 pm
Described as intensely soulful by The New York Times and spellbinding by The New Yorker, Syrian composer and clarinetist Kinan Azmeh has become known for his utterly distinctive sound across musical genres.
This special evening of conversation and performance features the world premiere of the second volume of Azmeh's Songs for Days to Come, a cycle of poems by exiled Syrian poets, set for a quartet of singer, clarinet, cello, and piano. Azmeh will be joined in conversation by Ara Guzelimian, Provost and Dean of The Juilliard School.
