STRING NOISE presents BERKLEE in Brooklyn
November 22 @ 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm| $15
STRING NOISE presents:
BERKLEE in Brooklyn
Music by composers from Berklee College of Music for two violins with musical “micro” (inter)ludes by Eric Lyon.
String Noise had an incredible visit at Berklee College of Music last spring working with students from the composition and string departments over the course of a very concentrated few days. We in return want to share this experience and spread the amazing energy by bringing it back to Brooklyn. On the program will be a piece by one of the winners of the student composition competition, Jessie Cox: Dark, Light (2017).
“The interplay between opposites has something beautifully fascinating to it, and is deeply rooted in our experience of existence. This piece is an exploration of this - sometimes harmonious and sometimes antagonistic - dichotomy, through the combining of extremely bright and dark colors, and through setting them in a dialogue with each other.”
In between each piece will be short interludes by Eric Lyon. Program will be performed continuously, without pause. All composers will be in attendance.
